1. Fall is a great time for school, with sports and homecoming and other festivities HOWEVER October is hell as a teacher. ( I love October in real life though...just not work-wise)
1a. There is no hyperbole when I say you get sh!t thrown at you all month.
1b. Hurricanes and flooding are destructive and triggering so I won't wish for that BUT winter needs to bring me some snow days. I need unscheduled breaks!
2. Contacting parents about their child shouldn't be a pain. Don't block the school number just answer. Why are there only absentee or helicopter parents? Where is the middle ground?
3. 70% of my success as a teacher can be attributed to building relationships with my students. ( I'm probably underestimating that percentage). This is a blessing and a curse.
3a. Blessings: I get ALLLLLL the tea! No wild behavior problems. Fun classes. Kids talk to me freely
3b. Cons: Kids talk to me freely. Annoying students refuse to leave me alone. Even when I stop being their teacher. Too much tea. A lot of times my cup runneth over with not so good tea.
4. It only took until October this year for students to be curious about my "husband."
4a. On the other hand...the LGBT coalition at school has found me. They tell me all their relationship drama and want to know where I shop so we can dress alike.
4b. Other students just want me to put on a bodysuit or a dress
4c. I know representation matters but I do not recall being in my teachers business like this! I did not care about my teachers like that!
5. That kid is still cursing people out like he's auditioning to be Samuel L. Jackson. Any and everybody can get it without provocation. But we're paid adequately for our work right? I get paid to be cussed out....oh and I get summers off!
