Keeping it short and sweet....this is the word problem that gets me in an awkward situation every year. This question is good fodder because no one wants to pay for anybody at their wedding and the kids realizing it's they would have to pay for their wedding is a hilarious reality check. Anywho...I make it to the last class of the day...which is my "urban" class ( we know what that code word means😉). Then I hear "you want me to ask her?" Aww hell...I know what's coming. * cue the young Cardi B meme* "Miss, are you married to a boy or a girl?" Anytime I tell this story everyone has an opinion about what I should do....write the student up. When that happens an administrator has to call the parent. Then maybe a meeting with these parents and when they see me..a gay...it may get real ugly from there. I'm not closeted at my school but I don't want things to be an issue when they don't have to be. Also, representation matters so it shouldn't really matter and then the fact that the lgbt students just gravitate towards is probably telling. But the moral is stop your unruly children from asking people inappropriate questions.
