November 15, 2018- HELL WEEK

1. This has been one hell of a time. So be prepared for this long summation...

2. *Deep Breath* In the past two weeks the following has occurred

a. Teacher has a stroke at school...is in the hospital for two days and then back at work...Teachers are Super Heros don't tell me anything different

b. Kid have been hospitalized for an emergency appendectomy, kidney stones (kid almost waited too late to say anything), and a student broke their leg by just walking (her story) and everybody has tendonitis in their knees...that Taki and Hot Cheeto diet is not good on the body.

c. Kids are vaping B12...in school and in class...WHHHHHYYYY?

d. Some girls threw another students clothes in the toilet during gym...again WHHHHYYY??? Let me clarify MULTIPLE toilets

3. A full on brawl occurred after school yesterday. High school and middle school kids fighting each. Should have been 3 people max involved but these suburban kids want a little bit of action and everybody starting jumping in and getting beat up, then Mama's getting out of cars and saying the old favorite "I fight kids!".....and you know where the real punishment lies the teachers/coaches for not supervising.

3a. This is after-school. Parents come pick up your kids promptly.

3b. Go to the school board and argue for better start and end times.

3c. The American work-day needs to be adjusted for flexibility and for parents.

3d. Teachers should not have to spend all day teaching your kid and then babysitting them (FOR FREE) until 6 when you can pick them up. Transportation should be arranged and if not...idk. These are older kids so they need that free time (right?). Free play? No? But this is a consequence of moving to the suburbs for minorities. There is no public transit to move kids around like the inner city. So yea the schools are better but then things like this happen.

3e. Kids were left out in the cold waiting to be picked up and that ain't right.

4. Some kids stink. Big AND funky. No family issues. Just putting on smelly clothes and lack of deodorant.

5. I have a student that has a tough time with her mental health. As you know some days are better than others...and well, today was a bad day. It affected some other students significantly and I'm sure affected that student as well. They are a great student but when their mind falls victim to itself it sucks. It's hard to teach through that because when you feel like life is worthless what the hell does my lesson mean to you? I don't always believe students should be instutitionalized...because I mean who can really afford that...but there should be schools and environments where students can spend more time doing therapy when needed rather than shuffling through the day being forced to learn by people's who's livelihoods depends on your academic performance despite your health. Fix IT!

6.Finally...Black women that are mothers to daughters...whew chilay! The pain you endure in your life is present in your daughters. I can probably exactly what type of pain you endured by how your daughter acts. Most of my girls have a Sofia "All my life I had to fight" mentality. You can't say anything to them without them being offended and pulling out attitudes. I am being much better with being kind in these moments yet firm with the lessons that although I can read through this hurt and pain others cannot and will be less forgiving. Just keep that in mind.

6a. I see how ya'll treat your sons too. Soft. They crumble anytime I say anything less than praise.

6b. Also your kids run their mouths and I know all of your sorry opinions about everybody. You can have an opinion of a teacher and what is right and wrong but your kid should never know that. The respect is lost between that teacher and student forever because you sided with your lying, lazy and entitled child. They also have you looking stupid in this parent teacher conference because they lied to you and told me you called me a "dumb ass hoe" so now I really don't care about anything right now.

7. This is always how it is before a break. Everybody is ret ta go and acts accordingly!
