Teacher Observations: Parents please chill out edition
1. My class is hard. I designed it in a way that if you do what I tell you to do you will be fine BUT it is harder than a typical math class so that when you see the STAAR ( I mean we can act like it doesn't play a factor but....) or go beyond my class you can say 'dang, this is easy.'
2. With that being said...a 75 on my assessments are pretty darn good. Your child is literally doing great.
3. I suggest to all parents prior to getting to the algebraic unit to hire a tutor because things will only get worse from here ( even if things are great presently)...and here we are in the middle of the algebra unit and now I'm getting asked to intervene all kids of ways for your child when I said to get outside help two months ago!
4. If your child has reached double digits in age and you are still coming to school to observe them and their behavior I hate to be the one to tell you this but....if you're reading this it's too late.
5. I can tell you that with you sitting there your child is going to do exactly what they should be doing and be crazy again the next day or still act the fool and neither of those scenarios is going to change the academic or behavior outcome for your child.
6. Now one of my rules has to be no parents in the classroom.
